Nalinchowk Airport in Bhaktapur that is about 20 km away from central Kathmandu Thamel Tourist Hub is newly constructed Heliport/Helipad to operate Heli Services aiming to reduce  congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu,and its located at an elevation of 1393meters above the sea level.  The newly constructed heliport in Nalinchowk, Bhaktapur, commenced operations on Friday of 21 June, 2024. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) undertook the initiative, investing about Nepali Rupees 110 million to build the facility on 33 ropanis of land at ward no. 10 of Suryabinaya Municipalit in Bhaktapur District.  Currently There are 12 Helicopter Company that operates heli service all over Nepal and no. of helicopters are on operation are about 40.
