Jomsom -located at an elevation of 2743 meteres is a Himalayan village in Mustang of Nepal. Jomsom village is the Administrative Central hub of the Mustang district of the Dhawalagiri (Dhaulagiri) zone of Nepal. The climate is often dry and windy. The most bottomless ravine in the world, Kali Gandaki River, also flows through the trail passing through Jomsom. It freezes in winter and flows in summer and monsoon with rainwater and melting snow.
The Jomsom Himalayan village is a popular starting/ending point for treks along the Kali Gandaki River valley as well as up to Muktinath on the Jomsom-Muktinath Trek.
