A new helipad at Nalinchowk in Bhaktpur City of Nepal has been inaugurated at Nalinchowk in Bhaktapur on 21 June, 2024 to alleviate air traffic congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu of Nepal.
Nalinchowk Helipad is at Located in Suryabinayak Municipality-10 in Bhaktapur District of Nepal and spanning 33 ropanis, the helipad is now operational. Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Hit Bahadur Tamang, highlighted the helipad's importance in managing TIA's traffic and aiding eastern districts. CAAN Director General Pradip Adhikari also expressed optimism about the helipad's benefits for helicopter service providers and local residents. The facility, which cost NPR 110 million, can park 17 helicopters and accommodate the simultaneous landing of four.
This development is part of broader efforts to enhance Nepal's aviation infrastructure, which currently includes around 40 helicopters operated by 12 service providers.
