Ghorepani trek is one of most beautiful trekking routes in Nepal which offers breathtaking view of most of the mountains in Annapurna range. One of the main highlights of the Ghorepani trek is the hike to Poon Hill. This high point has one of the most awe inspiring sunrises in Nepal. The breathtaking sunrise starts from over the hills with the sun rays slowly cloaking the Massifs till they glisten like diamonds. On a clear day, you can see panoramic views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna (8,091m), Fishtail (6,997m) Annapurna II, South II, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Dhampus peak, Butterfly mountain, Hiuchuli and many others are seen prominently on a clear day.\r\n\r\nThe trek will also take you through dense Rhododendron forest, waterfalls, and beautiful villages especially Ghandruk which has pristine tradition and culture. At Ghandruk you will get to experience the local culture of the Gurung people, with their special cuisine, drinks, and colorful dances.
Day 1. Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Trek Preparation
After a lovely breakfast in the morning, we start guided sightseeing tour to some most historical and spiritual attraction in Kathmandu. We will be visiting some landmarks which are considered as World Heritage Sites. This Sightseeing will be fully informative and historical. We start our day from Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples, followed by Bouddanath, the ancient Buddhist Stupa is one of the largest in the world. Following our day to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, is the plaza in front of the royal place of old Bhaktapur. In the afternoon we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and explore the old royal place complex which was built on the 14th century. After we finish sightseeing we follow the local market called Ason, crossing the busy local area we reach our hotel at Thamel. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Pokhara
On a 7-hour scenic drive early in the morning to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. You can see amazing Himalayan ranges on the right side from the plane. With many other amazing places to visit, Pokhara is a peaceful as well as a thrilling place to be. We will have enough time to soak in the amazing ambiance and spend a lovely evening by the lake while making final preparations for the trek tomorrow. Overnight at Pokhara.
Day 4: Pokhara to Tikhedungha
We drive in the morning from Pokhara to Nayapul which will take around one hour to reach. After arriving at Nayapul we start our trek towards Tikhedunga via Birethanti. We walk for three hours in the company of lovely view of small waterfalls while passing through forest finally brings us at Tikhedunga. Overnight at Tikhedhunga.
Day 5: TIKHEDHUNGA TO GHOREPANI
Before dawn, we hike for 40 minutes to Poon Hill through the rhododendron forests to view the breathtaking Mountains like Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Baraha Shikar, Annapura I, Annapurana South, Annapurna III, Machapuchhare, and so on. We witness famous sunrise over the Himalayas and walk back to Ghorepani for breakfast. We start our walk on a short but steep ascent until Deurali. We pass through the forest with the company of amazing flora and fauna. We follow the deep forest until we reach Banthanti which takes about two hours, and a little further to Tadapani village. This village is surrounded by beautiful forests. We can see more great view of Mount Machapuchhare, Annapurna south, Hiun Chuli, and Annapurna II. We pass this village, crosses the forest and descend to reach Chuile. Overnight at Chuile.
We begin our trek in the morning from Tikhedhnga village and after a few hours on uphills and undulating trails through the village we reach Banthanti. We rest for while and have lunch here with the enjoyable beautiful view of mount Machapuchhare, Hiun Chuli, and Annapurna south. After having a beautiful lunch we start following our trail which goes gradually ascend until we reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani is the village of Magar peoples with their own culture and tradition. After arriving at Ghorepani we will meet some great view of mountains. Overnight at Ghorepani.
Day 6: Ghorepani to Tadapani
Before dawn, we hike for 40 minutes to Poon Hill through the rhododendron forests to view the breathtaking Mountains like Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Baraha Shikar, Annapura I, Annapurana South, Annapurna III, Machapuchhare, and so on. Day 7: Tadapani to Jhinuwadanda
After having the beautiful breakfast in the morning we descend through the deep forests until we reach the Jhinu Danda which takes 4 hours. The view of Mount Machhapuchre (Fishtail), Annapurna South is remarkable. Jhinu Danda is known for its hot springs. We will have enough time to 2-3hrs at the natural spring that will leave us feeling rejuvenated and pampered.Overnight at Jhinu Danda.
Day 8: Jhinuwadanda to Nayapul to Pokhara to Kathmandu
We start our trek in the morning towards the Nayapul form Jhinu Danda. Trail of stoney steps leads us to Syauli Bazar. We continue our walk to Birethanti. From Birethanti we walk for half n hour and finally we reach Nayapul. Driving for one hour we then reach Pokhara. then On a seven-hour drive on a tourist bus, we reach Kathmandu. You can spend some leisure time reflecting on the trek and doing last-minute shopping in Thamel. We meet up for dinner in the evening and celebrate successful completion of our trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 9: Kathmandu
Day 10: An amazing trip to the Himalayas concludes on this day. Freedom Adventures’ staff will drop you off at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Have a safe flight back!
